A square plate "Braided shards"
If you look carefully at this beautiful plate you notice many braids which tie together terracotta and beige square shards. The beauty of this plate is not in a colorful palette. There is glass of mostly 2 colors used for creation of this centerpiece. This plate attracts the sight by the combination of straight geometrical lines and squares and braids with matching the colors. The braids have volume and you can even try to touch them inside the plate's body.
To make this plate I pulled twisted cane from a vitrigraph - a special kiln with a hole in the bottom. Then twisted canes were combined so, that they composed braids. These braids were aligned across beige and terracotta squares and fused together. The resultants square was trimmed and the edges were ground and polished, so they look straight and shiny. Finally the plate got its shape.
This plate is one of a kind and an original authors work.
The plate is food safe but it's not recommended to use a dishwasher or microwave.
